Thorns

Have you ever wondered why a beautiful rose must be attached to a branch of thorns. How can something so fragrant and delicate intertwine to something so hurtful, so frustrating to have to deal with. As Levi says, "What in the whirl are these doing here!". Just as God uniquely designed nature to have joy and pain... He understood joy and pain on the cross. The joy of knowing, "It is finished", but the shear pain of the thorns pressed into His head. The same head that bowed in prayer just hours before in the garden was now bowing in pain attached to victory. Life is shadowed in just the same way. Yes, we endure thorns, frustrating situations, but God said He would never put on us more than we could bare. Our small crosses pale in comparison to HIS. Just remember what thorns are, pain attached to beauty.
