DC is almost overwhelming with so much to see and do. The worst thing is to try and pack so much into one day. Yesterday was one of those days.

We did a tour from 9am to around 2pm that went to Arlington Cemetary, WW II Memorial, FDR Memorial and drove by several others. What a surprise at Arlington that during the changing of the guard there was a special wreath placement ceremony for Huntingdon, TN Primary students. We saw several friends with their children... talk about a coincidence!!! It was so nice to see some "home" folks!

We wanted to take advantage of already being in the DC area, so even though we were really tired, we pressed on to visit Fords Theatre and The Spy Museum. Fords Theatre was very interesting with all the Lincoln memorabilia, but the Spy Museum drove me crazy!!! It was so very boring, and we even had to pay to get in. There were so many other places I would have rather been visiting... live and learn!

My feet were absolutely killing me... but God provided a beacon of hope when we spotted a Payless Shoe Store. People that know me know I am usually not a flat shoe wearer, but yesterday I bought a pair of flats to help me survive. My feet are better but my calves are in pain from walking so much with heels. Another live and learn moment!

We had an adventure and hailed a taxi to get back to our hotel... Shanna, you would have been proud... all four of us waving frantically getting one to stop. Guy said, "Hey, I know how to do this... Aunt Shanna taught me in New York!". Levi sat mesmerized staring intently at this man who barely spoke english driving us to our hotel... "How in the world does he know where to take us?", he whispered to me. "He drives people around all the time and knows exactly where he is going." I answered reassuring myself also!

After arriving safely, we found an interesting restaurant called Ketchup in the Harbour area by our hotel. We loved the fry trio with 5 different dipping sauces, and the rest of the food was good also... pricey but good. They had ran out of potatoes to go with our chicken so the server brought out the devil's side dish... macaroni and cheese with crabmeat... so rich, you could just feel the fat go straight to your body! At least we had probably walked 5 miles that day so that helped some!

We thanked God for His protection and safety and then enjoyed a great nights sleep with the air set on 66 degrees... taking advantage of free air conditioning!

Today turned out to be a beautiful day, even after the Levi scare that you can read about below... I will post about our day today tomorrow hopefully! God is soooo good, and we feel so blessed!
